Uber Eats is preparing to introduce support for Apple Pay across 20 countries offering the Uber Eats fast food delivery service.

Uber says you can Eat with Face ID

Apple Pay has been supported by Uber since 2014, but Uber Eats failed to provision such support until now. This means that when you want to stuff your face with food you can pay for it by flashing your face at Face ID (or using Touch ID).

So long as you have registered your Apple device for Apple Pay, the payment method will be made available as an option when you purchase through the Uber app.

(Though please, please don’t forget to tip. Delivery is tough work and the people who do it surely deserve a little gratitude.)

The fast food delivery service is experiencing an uptick in alternative payment card usage – Venmo, for example, drove 6 payments last year according to this report.

Uber recently introduced a range of enhancements to its service, including better tracking tech, a better response service if an order goes wrong and better communications between customers ordering food and the place that’s selling it to them.

Apple Pay is now accepted at over two million store locations, and this number increases all the time. You can use it at Dunkin Donuts, Johnny Rockets, and Subway.

Apple Pay support in Uber Eats will be introduced to the following countries in the next few weeks – as this note on the site shows, you won’t find it quite yet:

  • Belgium
  • Canada
  • France
  • Hong Kong
  • Ireland
  • Italy
  • Japan
  • New Zealand
  • Poland
  • Portugal
  • Spain
  • Sweden
  • Switzerland
  • Taiwan
  • Netherlands
  • United Arab Emirates
  • United Kingdom
  • United States.

And don’t forget to tip. Those brave drivers deserve a little gratitude. (I prefer to use real cash for tips).
